DURHAM, NC – September 23, 2026 – United Granite LLC, a family-owned stone fabricator based in Durham, North Carolina, has expanded its porcelain surface offerings, giving homeowners, builders and designers across the Raleigh-Durham Triangle another option alongside granite, quartz, marble and quartzite.
The addition builds on the company’s recent inventory expansion of its Custom Countertops selection, which now includes more than 2,000 colors and over 120 full slabs on display at its Durham showroom. Porcelain slabs are now available for review in the same showroom, where clients can compare them side by side with natural stone and engineered quartz before making a selection.
According to the company, Porcelain Countertops are manufactured from natural clays fired at temperatures above 2,200°F, producing a dense, non-porous surface. The material is resistant to scratches, stains and UV exposure and can withstand heat up to 450°F. Slabs are available in thicknesses as thin as 6mm and weigh considerably less than natural stone, which can simplify installation on certain cabinet and wall applications. Because the surface does not absorb liquids, the surface is easy to clean and does not require periodic sealing.
Digital printing technology allows porcelain to replicate the look of marble, concrete, wood and other materials, giving clients the appearance of natural stone with lower maintenance requirements. The company notes that UV resistance makes porcelain suitable for outdoor kitchens, while its thin profile supports uses beyond countertops.
United Granite fabricates porcelain for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, outdoor kitchens, wall cladding, flooring and fireplace surrounds. All work is handled in-house, from free digital laser measurement and templating to CNC fabrication and installation, without subcontractors. Typical projects move through fabrication in 10 to 15 days, with installation completed in one to two days.
