Thirty-Four Years After First Writing It, Farline Completes ‘Running Blind’

The reunited rock band announces its September 1 single, completing a song first written in 1992 and mixed by three-time GRAMMY-winning engineer Tom Lord-Alge.

NASHVILLE, TN, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — More than three decades after it was written and first captured on a basement tape, Farline has announced the September 1 release of “Running Blind,” the band’s second single, continuing a chapter the members once thought might never be finished.

The newly completed recording was mixed by three-time GRAMMY-winning engineer Tom Lord-Alge, whose credits include U2, Dave Matthews Band, Blink-182, Santana, and Steve Winwood, bringing modern production to a song rooted in the band’s earliest creative years.

Driven by soaring guitars, cinematic production, and an anthemic chorus, “Running Blind” combines Farline’s classic rock roots with a modern rock sound. The single will be available worldwide on all major streaming platforms September 1, with the official music video premiering alongside the release. The video combines the band’s performance with cinematic aviation imagery to complement the song’s themes of determination, resilience, and pushing forward through uncertainty.

“When we found the original tapes, it felt like unfinished business,” said guitarist Mike Wright. “Recording Running Blind wasn’t just making a song, it was completing something we started decades earlier.”

Drummer Rich Snowden remembers those early rehearsals as the foundation of the band’s creative process. “The early jam sessions were where we learned how to bring our ideas to life. I had notebooks full of lyrics and was constantly writing back then, while Mike was always bringing new riffs into rehearsal.”

For co-writer Bryan Carmer, the song’s return is proof that some ideas simply endure. “At the time we weren’t thinking about longevity, we were just creating. Looking back now, it’s clear Running Blind stood the test of time, or we wouldn’t be releasing it more than three decades later.”

The upcoming release follows Farline’s debut single, “Going Home,” which introduced the band’s reunion story while earning international radio airplay and steadily growing streaming audiences.

Fans can pre-save “Running Blind” now ahead of its September 1 release.
